How to merge PDF files
Open the editor
Go to the editor. Nothing to install and no sign-up screen.
Open your first PDF
Drag it onto the page, or click Open PDF. It appears immediately with a thumbnail for every page.
Add the others
Click + Add PDF and pick your next file. Its pages are appended to the end. Repeat for as many files as you need — you can also select several at once.
Put the pages in order
Drag any thumbnail in the left sidebar to move it. Rotate, duplicate or delete individual pages using the icons that appear when you hover over one.
Download the combined file
Click Download PDF. One merged document, no watermark.
Why merging in your browser is safer
Merging is one of the most common reasons people reach for an online PDF tool — and often the documents involved are the sensitive kind: signed contracts collected from different people, scanned ID pages, invoices being bundled for an accountant, or medical records being sent to a specialist.
Most online mergers upload every one of those files to a server, combine them there, and hand back a download link. Your documents sit on someone else's infrastructure, and you're trusting a retention policy you'll never see enforced.
Plate never uploads anything. The merge happens in code running inside your browser tab, so the files stay on your machine from start to finish. Once the page has loaded you can even go offline and it still works.

Merging very large files. Because everything runs in your browser, the practical limit is your device's memory rather than an upload cap. Combining a handful of ordinary documents is instant. Merging several hundred-page scans on an older phone may be slow — a desktop browser will handle it more comfortably.
